Snow, the wondrous little flecks of frozen water that make everything seem pure. But what’s all that pureness doing in the middle of April? It’s absurd!
Friday, April 11, students saw the flurries coming down in the morning. To what was a wake up call early in the morning, students were surprised to see the snow on a school day.
Also in the early morning on Saturday, April 12, Doherty students received a message. The message said, “Due to the unexpected snow storm and road conditions, all events at Doherty High have been cancelled. Athletic practices, AP Social Studies Mock Exam, Attendance Buy Back, Musical-all are cancelled.” Now, as many can see there were plenty of events going on at Doherty that were sadly retracted because of the inches of snow brought down by the heavy clouds.
But wait! Don’t fret, Mr. Staley also wrote that next week events are looking to be rescheduled! Hopefully dates are released ASAP.
Now, looking at the forecast for this week no snow is in sight. So hopefully there are no twists of events because snow is interfering with the potential of good, sunny weather. Even on April 14 temperatures reached sixty five in Worcester. Where is this weather when you need it?
Now that we have gotten a glimpse of the beautiful weather, fingers crossed that the nice weather outweighs the treacherous slush and piles of snow plagued on citizens of Worcester.
