Last Friday, the senior class came together for a final hurrah before graduation. Through 1st period, Doherty faculty cooked up hundreds of pancakes and prepared the cafeteria.

Once 2nd period started, the seniors were called down to the cafeteria to indulge in their breakfast. The line for food stretched all the way around the cafeteria, but soon everyone was served and sitting down at the tables. The cafeteria projector was playing a slideshow of senior photos, baby pictures, artwork, and prom photos, set up by the Yearbook Club.
While the seniors ate, reminisced, and played card games, 3rd period arrived. For 3rd period, the seniors moved to the auditorium for an awards ceremony, honoring recipients of awards and scholarships. Dozens of seniors were honored, and tens of thousands of dollars were awarded.
After the award ceremony, the seniors moved to the gymnasium from period 4-5 where they received their cap and gowns and yearbooks. Seniors perused the yearbook, laughing at the funny quotes and pictures, and enjoying all the memories. Then, the pens were passed around as yearbooks were signed, accompanied by personal messages, advice, and phone numbers.

The seniors graduated on May 27th, and their last day is May 29th. I think I can speak for all of Doherty when I say: Good luck Doherty Class of ’25!
