Earlier this year we had an article written about Mr. Ramirez, most notable for teaching AP U.S. History here at Doherty, and his decision to retire this year. Since then we have three more staff members who are moving on to the next chapter of their lives.

Ms. Foster was a science teacher that has been here at Doherty for many years now. She was always a radiant light that encouraged her students to do better and be better. I never took a class from her, but that didn’t stop Ms. Foster from being so kind and welcoming. I know her from her hall monitor duties outside of my 6th period classroom, and everytime I would step out she would never fail to be welcoming and start a conversation as if we had known each other for a very long time. We wish her a joyful and fulfilling life in retirement. Congrats Ms. Foster!

Ms. Peters will join Mr. Ramirez as a history teacher that is retiring this year. Ms. Peters is an inspiration to us all. She is confident and kind-spirited. She always carried herself with grace and poise and never once failed to excel at her job. Your passion for history and for teaching made those lessons come to life and made them that much more meaningful. You’ve had an impact on a great deal of students and for that we were so lucky to have you as a staff member for this long. Enjoy retirement because you deserve it!

Mr. Weisenberg is retiring after long years of serving the people here at Doherty High. As former showrunner for DTV, Mr. Weisenberg’s creativity shined like no other. He was a computer science teacher here at Doherty and always a teacher to count on. He knew the capabilities of his students and pushed them to strive for greatness every time. He is an admirable man as well as a teacher. His legacy will remain in these halls and the hearts of so many forever and in the videos of DTV. Good luck Mr. Weisenberg, have fun and make the most of retirement!
