School’s out! And, well, kids and teens have to eat. Many families struggle with getting their kids food while they’re at work, or simply need a little help providing it for the day. This is why Summer Eats is such a great program.
Summer Eats is a program that supplies anyone 18 or under with a free meal across the city. The program started June 23rd and goes until August 15th. There are different sites to go to to receive food and you can access all that information at this site. Keep in mind that the mobile nutrition vehicles offer the meals on Monday and Friday, and then Saturdays at local markets!
The meal sites vary from parks, playgrounds, public pools, schools, farmer’s markets, and more. Children and teens who are going to get their free meal at their closest site don’t have to register or sign-up. All you do is show up, and the people in charge of the vehicle will ask you what you want and just do a head count.
So, check out the Worcester Public Schools website and look at the Summer Eats page to find your site to get your free meals this summer. Stay safe and cool this summer!
