
Girls volleyball season has just begun and already they are dominating the court with a record of 6-1. The week of September 15th to 19th is where the records prove all the fun!
Starting off the week strong, the Highlanders play Main South at their court and preform 3-0. Sophie Ferrin (#3) had four aces followed by Ema Pengo (#15) and Mena Hoac (#12) both with three aces. Sarah Laallami (#4) had a sum of six kills, Mena Hoac having five. Emo Pengo led the ladies with seventeen assists, Mena Hoac five, and Paola Renxa (#8) four. Jenna Goudge (#24), Sarah Laallami, and Mena Hoac all had four digs. These sets showcased the Highlanders proving what they come to do; win.
Highlanders were hosting their second home game of the season on Wednesday, September 17th, they took the win yet again 3-0. Sarah Laallami shows out with a total of eight kills, Mena Hoac second with four kills as well. Ema Pengo with over eleven assists. Doherty had an excellent game remaining on top.
The last game of the week was on Friday, September 19th against Bartlett. Doherty plays and wins 3-1, winning the first two and last sets. First set is 25-10 with a strong start including Sarah Laallami finishing off the set with an one of her five aces. Ending off the game 25-13, Ema Pengo leads the landers with six aces and twenty-one assists. Adding on to the success, Roisin O’malley (#1) has five aces, ten kills, Sarah Laallami ten kills, Mena Hoac ten kills and six digs, Jenna Goudge four aces and seven digs, and Avery Smith (#14) with five aces and six digs.
