Highlanders pursuing their 10-1 victory pursuit, they are just remaining full of spirit. With their last two games last week, September 26th and 28th, these two games are just two more victories under their belt.
Starting off with Wednesday’s game, September 26th, Highlanders played four sets, winning 3-1. Avery Smith (#14) leads the girls off with seven aces, eight kills, and one dig, this captain is all heat and no stop. Sophia Ferrin (#3) also showcased her talent with six aces and four kills. Not stopping here, Sarah Laallami (#4) had five aces, three kills, and one assist, Ema Pengo (#15) two aces, and fifteen assists, Mena Hoac (#12) two aces and a grand eight kills, while Paola Renxa (#8) had four assists and Jenna Goudge one ace, two kills, and one for both assists and digs. Playing Abby Kelley for the second time, they won yet again.
Continuing with the 3-0 defeat against Main South on Friday, September 26th, there were claps all around. Mena Hoac being a menace on the Court had two aces, seven kills, one block, and six digs. Ferrin also switched into demolish gear when she had eight aces, six kills, and two digs. Overall the team did good all around with Pengo having nineteen assists and a dig, Goudge three kills and two digs, Smith four aces, kill, and three digs, Laallami three aces, four kills, and five digs, to Erica Bufi (#10) two digs and both a dig for Mary Goodness (#7) and Paula Renxa with an added assist for Renxa.
Not stopping anytime soon, volleyball is continuing the good name of Doherty.
