Are you ready to take action and be part of the solution? The Youth Climate Leadership Program, organized by Mass Audubon, is bringing together young leaders from across Massachusetts for an exciting, hands-on event that you won’t want to miss!
On Saturday, March 15th, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM, students, activists, and community members will gather at Girls Inc. (125 Providence Street, Worcester, MA) for a day packed with inspiration, education, and action. This year’s focus? Food justice and reducing food waste as a climate solution!
Students from Worcester, Fitchburg, Boston, and beyond have worked tirelessly to put together an engaging and meaningful experience. With a panel discussion featuring special guests from City Hall and organizations dedicated to reducing food waste, attendees will hear firsthand about the real-world efforts to tackle this critical issue in Massachusetts.
But that’s not all! This summit isn’t just about listening—it’s about doing! With interactive and hands-on activities like a Climate Justice Walk, Climate Science Workshop, an Intro to Gardening, and many more, participants will have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, connect with like-minded individuals, and become changemakers in their own communities.
This FREE event is ADA accessible, provides lunch, and is conveniently located on WRTA Route 1. Plus, it’s sponsored by the Department of Conservation and Recreation of Massachusetts (DCR), the same organization behind the Annual Envirothon Competition that Doherty’s own team competes in under the guidance of Ms. Hill.
Doherty’s Ana Isabel Ferreira Andrade (Junior) and Jailene Matias (Senior & Writer for the Highlander’s Herald) have played key roles in making this summit a success—emceeing, organizing, and leading workshops that will make this event an unforgettable experience.
So, what are you waiting for? Come join us for a day of learning, action, and fun! Get inspired, get involved, and help make a difference for our planet. See you there!
