Hello! I’m Katz, a Sophomore here at Doherty Memorial High School, and I’d love to share a bit about myself to you!
I’m a Staff Writer & Editor for Highlander’s Herald and I joined because I want to continue building my college resume to hopefully become a future appellate attorney. A two fun facts about me are I’m an Aquarius & Paisa (Colombian)! Through the Upward Bound Program, I’ve done a short internship at the Worcester County Poetry Association! I am a part of a Chapter 74 program, Programming and Web Development. I am also currently a Co-President for Doherty’s Mock Trial as well.
Extracurriculars I’ve joined in the past were Robotics, Pickleball, Arts & Crafts, a Mathletes Competition, Mock Appeal, Mock Trial, Spoken Poetry and of course, Highlander’s Herald! I’ve also volunteered at Bancroft School supervising kids on Saturdays and participated in their summer programs for four summers! In my free time, I enjoy crocheting, painting, sketching, playing Roblox, and listening to music.
My ultimate goal through writing for Highlander’s Herald is to give students here at DMHS a chance to be heard on their opinions, while also providing readers with entertaining articles to indulge in! Through my work and experiences, I hope to motivate you to pursue your future endeavors, whatever they may be. I’m looking forward to hearing your critiques on my work! Please feel free to email me!
