Nov. 1st – Nov. 30th, 2025
Every November, National Native American Heritage Month celebrates the history, culture, and contributions of Native peoples in the United States. The month was officially recognized in 1990 when Congress passed a law signed by President George H.W. Bush. It builds on earlier efforts from the 1970s, like Native American Awareness Week, to honor Native communities and their traditions. This month is a time to learn about the many tribes, languages, and histories that have shaped our country, while also recognizing the strength, creativity, and leadership of Native Americans.

Across the country, people celebrate with events like storytelling, art displays, music, and cultural performances. Schools, museums, and organizations highlight important Native figures, traditions, and contributions to society. From honoring leaders like Wilma Mankiller and Sitting Bull to sharing Native art and music, this month is both a way to remember history and a celebration of identity, culture, and community. Happy National Native American Heritage Month, everyone! Don’t forget to tune in for more articles!
