Boys Volleyball has continued their winning streak, extending it to six games. This team has also proven themselves by earning a spot in the post season after winning nine matches out of their eighteen game schedule, making them the first Doherty team to qualify for the post-season. After beating South on April 27th, Doherty faced league opponent Keefe Tech at home and bested the Broncos in a sweep (3-0). Following this the Highlanders dominated North Middlesex and Fitchburg in consecutive home sweeps; (3-0), (3-0) respectively. Doherty is currently 10-3 on the season and look to face a formidable opponent in Nipmuc in an away game on May 5th.
On the courts, Boys and Girls Tennis have continued to be a competitive program. On the boy’s side the Highlanders faced the Pirates of Oxford at home and won in a sweep (5-0). The boys then fell to Wachusett (1-4) but bounced back with a statement sweeping victory over Southbridge (5-0). The boys currently has a record of 5-4 and looks to improve in an away match against the Wolves of Nashoba on May 7th. On the girl’s side of the court, They travelled to Blackstone-Millville and won in a program sweep (5-0). Doherty then followed with a close victory over Uxbridge (3-2). Doherty then fell to Notre Dame Academy (0-5). The girls currently sit at 4-4 and look to improve as they travel for a match at Grafton on May 7th

Boy’s Baseball has continued their impressive season with a talented roster that includes six athletes who have recently committed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Those athletes include Marcus Vargas to Johnson & Wales University, Beckett Bailey to Westfield State University, Ayden Duanys to Dean College, Nolan Donovan to Worcester State University, Ayron Hernandez to Bridgewater State University, and Mikey O’Connell to Quinsigomond Community College. This talented roster has continued to produce with a dominating victory over Bartlett (14-1). Following this the Highlanders travelled to Oxford and were edged out by the pirates, falling (5-6). These boys currently have a 8-4 record and will next travel to Burncoat to face the patriots on May 6th.
