Meet Jaden Marc, the owner of Sneaker Sapphire — a store known for its streetwear, fair prices, and strong connection to customers from all walks of life. In this spotlight interview, Jaden shares how his journey started, the challenges he faced, and what keeps him motivated to grow his brand every day. Q: Tell me about your background.

“I was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. I go to Quinsigamond Community College. I’m also Haitian American, and 21 years of age.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies, passions, video games, or special interests? If so, what are they?

“My business is my passion and I enjoy it to the full extent. In my free time, I like to be with friends and family since working full time takes up a majority of my days. Football and basketball games are always fun too.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: Do you have any work, community work, or internship experiences you would like to share?

“I didn’t do anything in high school. I do community work. I do a lot of guest speaking and host business workshops at schools. The store will host free basketball tournaments in the summer and offer free photos with Santa during the Christmas season. We are always looking to actively give back to the community. Last year, we gave out around 400 free sweatsuits to people in the community.”- Jaden Marc.

Q: What inspired you to start Sneaker Sapphire? How and when did you come up with the name and brand? How do you promote your business?

“I wanted to be my own boss at a young age and I was tired of working for other people so I decided to do it myself. I always wanted to be my own boss and work for myself. I opened it up in October 2023. I promote my business through selling my sweatsuits, doing community events, and having a strong social media presence. Word of mouth is huge–a lot of people talk about our business.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: Tell me a bit about Sneaker Sapphire. What products do you sell, and how does this make your business unique compared to others? Can you walk me through the cost of your products?

“For sneakers we sell Jordan’s, Yeezys, Nike Dunks, New Balances, ASICS, and UGGS. For clothes we sell SP5DER, Denim Tears, Vale, Godspeed, Supreme, Nike Techs, Polo, alo, lululemon, and a lot more designer brands too.” – Jaden Marc. I buy, sell, and trade new items everyday, but since selling for 5 years I figured out what my clientele likes the most. We try to be competitive with StockX and GOAT.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: What were some challenges you had to overcome while starting Sneaker Sapphire? Did you get any criticism or doubts along the way? Any advice to Highlanders who want to start a business?

“Not having enough money and being prepared for all the investments I had to put in place. Competing with sneaker stores I use to work at definitely was a challenge. When I took a gap year after high school before I went back to college a lot of people clowned me and said I was gonna be a failure. I always tell people to never get comfortable and keep pushing no matter where your at in life and don’t feed into what people say about you because they don’t know what your fully capable of.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: What has been the most rewarding part of running Sneaker Sapphire? How do you balance your personal life and running your own business?

“Definitely the impact on young kids, seeing a full business be run by young entrepreneurs. I like offering a place that has fair prices where people can express their love for sneakers and streetwear. It’s not a hard balance since I work a lot and don’t really have a big personal life but I truly enjoy my job and don’t think of it as work I think of it as fun and I keep myself busy doing new activities outside of the shop. Everyday is something different.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: Where do you see Sneaker Sapphire in the next 5-10 years? Do you have any personal goals set for the future?

“Yes I would definitely like to expand and find a bigger spot somewhere local and continue the stores clothing line. I would like to use my profits of this business to help expand into my next venture.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: What new projects, events, or holiday specials are you excited to release at Sneaker Sapphire?

“We are currently working on the next school sweatsuit series and this year I had students from the school’s design and be more involved. Sneaker Sapphire always has discounts, the more you grab the better deals you get. Our prices are already more than fair. We will be hosting more sport events in the summer as well.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: How can customers make their orders? Who is your typical audience, and who do you aim to reach?

“They can place orders through our social media or order on the website. We offer shipping and delivery. Also we are open 12-8pm including every holiday. Our customers come from all walks of life and all over New England. Our most popular is definitely young adults and kids in high school and college.” – Jaden Marc.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share?

“Started selling shoes at 16, opened business at 19, currently 21 and still working harder every day.” – Jaden Marc.
