Remember the news from February 5th, 2025? About a word with five letters? Cocoa. It was ripped from our hands due to students spilling it in the halls.

And remember the recommendations of cups with lids instead of getting rid of the phenomenon altogether? Well that was finally taken into consideration.

Doherty’s student council sold its new and improved hot chocolate for the first time last Friday, February 6th. Unlike last year, students can’t leave the cafeteria with their hot chocolate or buy it during the last 5 minutes of lunch. Drink it there, not to go! It’s being sold at all lunches during the 5th period.

Recapping on what’s being sold, a regular hot chocolate is $1.00. The extra special deluxe hot cocoa is $2.00 to have cool whip, a marshmallow, and caramel on it (accommodations included).

So, you heard it folks. The hot cocoa scandal is no more, the cocoa finally runs warm. Visit the student council table in the upper-caf to get your steaming hot cup of cocoa on Fridays.
