With the holiday season finally here, Christmas music has officially taken over headphones, hallways, and bus rides. To find out students at our school are playing on repeat, I put out a Google Form asking a simple question: “What’s your favorite Christmas song?” Many people responded and the results were more interesting than expected.
The Top 3 Favorite Songs
Looking at everyone’s responses here are the top 3 songs that came out on top :
1st Place: “Last Christmas” – Wham!
Taking the top spot, “Last Christmas” was the most popular song in the poll. Many students seems to enjoy its emotional lyrics mixed with a catchy beat, making it a favorite for the holiday season.
Ashley (’28) says “It gives me nostalgia and makes me feel happy. It also reminds me of Christmas with family and being cozy.”
Scarlett Rogers (’28) says this is her favorite song because its peak!
Many others its also just an good song to listen to!

2nd Place: “All I Want for Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey
A holiday classic, Mariah Carey’s hit continues to dominate playlists year after year. Students said it instantly puts them in a Christmas mood and feels like an essential part of December.
Dr. Razzaq says “It reminds me of the 90s when I was young.”
Anonymous says “It’s just a hit you will never get tired of.”

3rd Place (Tie): “Santa Tell Me” – Ariana Grande & “A Nonsense Christmas” – Sabrina Carpenter
These modern Christmas songs were especially popular among students who prefer newer holiday music with a fun upbeat style.
Anonymous says “I just like newer music. It brings me more hype and motivation.”
Anonymous says “It’s a cheeky fun song!”

Several songs received one or two votes, showing how diverse students music taste are :

Most Unexpected Answer
One response definitely stood out: The Fortnite theme song. While not a traditional Christmas song, it shows that the holiday spirit looks different for everyone!
What did the Results Say
Overall, the poll revealed that students enjoy balance between classic Christmas songs and modern holiday hits. While older songs bring nostalgia, newer tracks feel more relatable to today’s generation. Together, they create a playlist that reflects the variety of personalities in our school.
From emotional classics like “Last Christmas” to playful picks and surprising answers, the poll shows how music help brings the holiday spirit to school. No matter what song is your favorite, Christmas music continues to connect students and make the season feel a little more festive.
