This Friday, February 6, our school will join millions of people across the nation in celebrating National Wear Red Day! A special day dedicated to raising awareness about women’s heart health.
National Wear Red Day is a part of American Heart Month, and it’s all about supporting women, learning about heart disease, and encouraging heart-healthy choices.
What is National Wear Red Day?
The event comes from the Go Red for Women initiative, organized by the American Heart Association. Every year, on the first Friday in February, people are encouraged to wear red not just to look good, but to bring attention to the fact that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among women.
Why Wear Red?
By wearing red, students and staff can help spark conversation and remind each other that heart health matters. Its a simple but powerful symbol that shows support for the women in our lives. Mom, sisters, grandmothers, friends, and raises awareness about how common heart disease really is.
Heart disease can affect women of all ages, and often the symptoms can be different from what many people expect. Learning about these differences and about ways to keep hearts healthy like staying active, eating nutritious foods, and knowing your health numbers can make a real difference.
Lets make our school bright with red this Friday and lets use it as a chance to learn, care, and show support for women’s heart health. This small gesture can make a big impact!
