Shhh… did you hear that the Spring Fling is around the corner! Here at Doherty we are hosting a Spring Fling on Friday, May 1st 2026, freshmen and sophomores only. The Spring Fling will be a memorable night to celebrate. Dance, dress up, party with friends, and most importantly have fun. Don’t try to test your luck; prepare early! If you are lucky enough and live near Worcester, there are plenty of clothes stores nearby that will help you find that perfect dress or suit, you get to choose. With some tips and tricks on makeup and hair, you’ll be looking fly with time to spare.
Let’s make-up something:
Time to put the show on the road. When it comes to glam you do not need a professional, you can actually become the pro yourself. First and foremost you want to wash and moisturize your face. Many people like to use a primer before foundation, which helps hold the makeup in place, and foundation gives your face a more smooth flawless look. For the foundation you want to find something that matches and complements your skin tone and blend it in well to avoid patchiness. On your eyes add natural looking eyeshadows, shimmers and a light blush on your cheeks. To complete the look add as much mascara as you desire and finish with a gloss or light shade of lipstick. If you’re going for a natural and simple look, this is the way to go.
Go bold or go home:
If you want to shine like a star add brighter eyeshadows to your eye and dramatic sparkles. Put on some dramatic looking lashes to blow the crowd away, just don’t fly away. On those cheeks add a brighter pink, peach, or even orange blush to make you glow. Complete the look with bold lipstick or gloss to shine that will match your outfit. Remember we want some glares so let’s do our hair. You can do simple styles such as loose curls, a slick ponytail, or a fancy bun if you really want to hit it out of the ball park! Friends, my best advice to you is to practice those hair styles and glam a couple days before the big night, just to feel more confident.
For those who like to skim through stuff and not read here is makeup recap:
- Use primer to help your make up last all night
- Match your foundation to your skin tone and blend it well
- Keep eye makeup simple or a bold look
- Finish with mascara or lashes
- Don’t forget add some gloss or lipstick
- Practice your glam ahead of time
